    • Older travelers

We liked the position, which was peaceful, and very relaxing. We liked the Hall, which was spacious and full of character. We liked the facilities which were outstanding. We liked the attention to detail and the high standard of service.

We think we would eat in the Brasserie if we stayed there again.

    • Group of friends

      beautiful situation...

faded grandure!!!..... cobwebs in hallways....... expensive country house stay if not using new spa facilities.

    • Couple

The staff were attentive and could not of been more helpful. The spa was state of the art with everything you would expect from the best, treatments were so relaxing. The location was the making of the hotel.

    • Older travelers

Wonderful spa facilities and huge out door hot tub.Fabulous six course evening meals, menus changed daily. Great staff and amazing surroundings.

Hotel bed itself was rather on the short side (I'm only 5'4" and my feet stuck out the end of the bed!)

    • Single

Food and friendly helpful staff. Spa was out of this world.

On the last morning of my stay I found two silverfish insects in the bed. I reported it to housekeeping who I know were set to deal with problem as I was leaving. However, I thought that there might have been something by way of compensation.

    • Family with children

Walking, visited Osprey nesting at keswick.

Restrictions to children swimming especially during school holidays. Not very flexible with children's meals especially with the price tag! Would say IRS more for couples rather than people with younger children.

    • Older travelers

fantastic setting overlooking Lake Bassenthwaite , culinary delight of six course dinner and being able to chill out in the luxurious spa

    • Couple

The hotel is very relaxed with pleasant staff. We ony sampled the food in the brasserie and is was amazing the whole experiance was worth the stay and nothing was to much trouble for the staff they realy make you welcome. Although the prices are quite high when you get there you will forget about the price and enjoy a little luxury.

Would have liked sky and a dvd player.

    • Group of friends

Very friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. The Spa was one of the best I've ever experienced

The food would have been better kept simpler. Charging for newspaper seemed a bit nit picking when paying so much for the accommodation

    • Couple

      The Spa was excellent

Could not wear smart jeans to dinner had to a suit, a small price to pay though

    • Couple

The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The bathroom, whilst I appreciate we were in the old part of the building for the trim rate paid I would of expected better bathroom facilities.

    • Family with children

Thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable long weekend. Excellent spa facilities, lovely (Dog friendly) hotel set in delightful grounds and location.

    • Older travelers

Wonderful relaxing 3 night stay......the Spa alone is worth the. Visit, especially the outdoor hot tub and found the food excellent in the Lakeroom resturant,

    • Group of friends

Fabulous service - professional and friendly. Gorgeous setting and modern spa to die for.

    • Older travelers

The Spa was fantastic. The restaurant was quite formal but the food was very good.
